on the rio

Just an hour away from the center of Buenos Aires on the local suburbian train, is town where the 'colectivo' is actually a boat. Tigre is a town by the rio (river) where houses are built...on the rio! It just seems like another world. Riding the boat that locals take to come back home from grocery shopping, or picking up the children on the land, we could have a tour of the "neighborhood". Each house has a porch in the water, where the boat can drop you off. It's much better than having to swim home - the water is brown. Each house is a different style and the gardens are a mix of wild nature and very well mowed lawn. The overall scenery is absolutely astonishing and you are lost in time. Almost enough as to forget you're so close you can be back on time for dinner in the city..
